Abundance - A Still Life
25"H x 49"W
Smalti, smalti metallics, millefiore, polished stone

Welcome to alla bizantina mosaics. "Alla bizantina", or in the style of the Byzantines, means that each single tesserae of the mosaic is cut immediately prior to being set, taking carefully into account the shape, cut and angle at which it must be set in order to capture the essence and define the design of the subject matter.

A Journey Begun
Smalti, Millefiore - 31" x 15"
Given as a wedding gift, this mosaic depicts the happy couple as they begin their journey together as husband and wife. I wish them nothing but fields of flowers and happiness. The clouds have silver linings and the sun's rays, shining upward, mean hope and all things good.
